FootJoy made a statement a year ago with the introduction of its ThermoSeries line of outwear for these colder months. Now, the company has expanded this lineup of golf attire to include some very functional and stylish layering additions that are both classic in looks-but offer all the latest in comfortable fabrics for chilly weather.
“Anyone that plays golf in varying weather conditions knows that layers are essential,” said Chad Crocker, Director of Product Management, FJ Apparel. “ThermoSeries offers a range of distinct layering pieces that work together, so as the temperature changes, you can easily and effortlessly adapt with it.”
New additions to the ThermoSeries collection include a Fleece Back Vest, a Full-Zip Hoodie and a Heather Brushed Back Mid-Layer. These new additions are lightweight for optimal layering, packed with performance stretch materials designed for the golf swing while providing warmth and comfort. The fit is classic FootJoy by allowing movement in all the right places. The brushed jersey knit of the hoodie has great thermal properties and is moister wicking with temperature control. The open-hand pockets are nice for extra storage and warmth, while the elastic hem and cuff binding make for an excellent fit.
The Fleece Vest gives additional warmth through its waffle fleece back fabric and a DWR finish that repels water in light rain or mist. The open hand pockets are a nice addition for a vest for either warmth or storage, making this a very versatile addition to the collection.
The color palette of the complete ThermoSeries collection is neutral, allowing golfers to select pieces from the collection to create many different outfit options.
This collection of base layers, mid-layers, outer layers and pants is made with materials that move with the golfer providing full range of motion, are lightweight to reduce bulk and are temperature regulated to ensure maximum comfort no matter how many layers are required. The fabrics are selected for their thermal properties, providing warmth without restriction in cooler conditions– and use a DWR finish to protect from the elements.
“As a leader in performance golf apparel, we want to continue the momentum and support around the importance of layering,” continued Crocker.
“ThermoSeries provides a number of different layering options that allow the golfer to extend their season and make every day playable.”
When the weather moves to full on rain, Footjoy has made these new ThermoSeries pieces to fit nicely with its HydroSeries rain jackets that offer 100% waterproof, breathable protection from the elements while on the course. HydroTour protects from the most extreme cool, wet weather conditions, while HydroKnit protects like a high-performance rain jacket with the wear and feel of a mid-layer and is designed for milder conditions.
